Who are we, and how did we get here?

We are a multi-national, multi-racial family, with roots on all five continents, and with the present generations living and/or working in more countries than I can keep track of. We have popped in and out of the history books over the past millennia, sometimes as kings, sometimes as authors/artists, adventurers, eccentrics, admirals, prospectors, aristocrats scoundrels and various admixtures of the foregoing.
We know quite a lot about ourselves not only from the history books but because we have written about our own lives and the times in which we lived. Just because we are an "old" family is neither here nor there, every single person alive today is a member of a family just as old as ours, and the fact that we know more about our history does not make us any more or less relevant than anyone else. Still, I believe that it is good for us and our kids to know and keep alive our family stories and share them with each other as they continue to evolve through the years of these "interesting times" for humanity and our home planet.
Today we are more scattered than ever before, with an equivalently greater ability to enrich each other with our own stories.I'd like your ideas on how you think we can create an living, growing (like a reef) family history/memoir across the generations.
